Dedicated Military Law Lawyer
Experienced Defense to Challenge Involuntary Separation
If you receive a notification of involuntary separation from the Armed Forces, it is important to hire an experienced attorney to represent you at your involuntary administrative separation hearing. In addition to the premature separation that may occur, you may have your benefits severely impacted due to the type of discharge that you receive. For over a decade, our legal team led by attorney Jeff Grass has successfully defended soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen who have faced premature, involuntary separation.
At The Law Office of Jeffrey C. Grass, we represent individuals who are concerned about their separation and the additional penalties they may receive for a UCMJ violation or a criminal charge. As a former judge advocate general in the United States Navy, criminal defense lawyer Jeff Grass understands the procedures that the military follows when prosecuting these matters. We work with individuals in the military located in the United States and worldwide.
Military Separation and Administrative Board Hearings
A member of the United States Armed Forces may face involuntary separation for many reasons, including military misconduct under the UCMJ or a civilian criminal conviction, among others. Military personnel who have been enlisted for more than six years, or who have a possibility of receiving an Other Than Honorable (OTH) discharge, are entitled to an administrative separation board hearing.
At this hearing, evidence is presented to three officers who will make a recommendation to the general officer or admiral who makes the final decision regarding that individual's discharge. While this hearing may be waived, the outcome of this administrative board hearing can have serious implications for life outside of the Armed Forces. At The Law Office of Jeffrey C. Grass, we will help you prepare for these hearings and ensure that your rights are protected.
